As filming continues on Obi-Wan Kenobi at Manhattan Beach Studios I’ve managed to get a minor update on some rumours floating around on the series.

You may recall a couple of weeks ago it was rumoured that an Inquisitor or Inquisitors would be appearing in the series. Now I don’t have much to bring to the table, but thanks to a source inside of a company working on the production I can back up the rumours.

For full transparency I was told this information July 14th and wrote the little write up you’re about to read on July 15th at 2:40am BST, but withheld posting until our website was ready.

The source isn’t a huge Star Wars fan and doesn’t know the names of certain items, characters etc. but from what was described to me it is my understanding that armour for Inquisitors has been made and the source saw multiple lightsabers hilts and when describing the appearance of the lightsabers the response without prompt was “circular guards around the handle”.  I don’t know how many Inquisitors will appear, but it definitely seems to be more than one.

As for an update on the Kenobi production, it seems as if at least for the past few weeks the series has only been using the volume in Manhattan Beach Studios and that the train yard sets have been torn down with the lot somewhat empty. There is still props hanging around, you can occasionally see the odd worker and hear construction work, but the area where the Tatooine sets were built is currently empty, but I fully expect to see them working there again shortly.

Rumours of Inquisitors appearing in Kenobi started back on May the fourth when Queens Gambit star Moses Ingram posted a video of herself training with a lightsaber. Several days later Corey Van Dyke (formally of Kessel Run Transmissions) said that he’d heard from one source that Ingram was playing an Inquisitor. Three weeks ago Making Star Wars reported they’d heard an Inquisitor or Inquisitors would be making an appearance. On July 16th, Cinelinx reported they heard that Inquisitors were making an appearance and that Sung Kang (Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift) plays the Fifth Brother from Star Wars: Rebels. Now with myself along with three other outlets reporting of involvement of Inquisitors, I think it’s a safe bet to expect them in Kenobi.
