The first official footage of Mark Hamill on set of The Mandalorian season two has been released by Disney.

Disney released a sizzle reel showcasing what’s to come in August on Disney+ which gave us a brief footage of Mark Hamill holding little Grogu which is taken from the upcoming episode of Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian which releases on August 25th.

Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni have always stressed that Mark Hamill appeared on set to film the scenes, but cast members including Ming-Na Wen (Fennec Shand) and Katee Sackhoff (Bo Katan) have both said during filming there was an unknown actor (Max Lloyd-Jones) on set with dots on his face with a green R2 unit. Both said the cast were told that the character Lloyd-Jones was playing was actually Plo Koon, but some of the cast members were not convinced.

Seeing this ever brief footage of Hamill has me even more intrigued as to how Jon and crew pulled the scene off and I’m eagerly anticipating the release of the latest episode of Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian later this month.
