The Hollywood Reporter are reporting that Hayden Christensen will reprise the role of Anakin Skywalker for the upcoming Disney+ series, Ahsoka.

Multiple sources have informed THR that the chosen one himself will star in the upcoming The Mandalorian spin-off, Ahsoka. THR had no further details to add to the report and noted plot details are being kept tightly under wraps, but say production is set to begin on the series next year, which many others, including myself, have said previously.

Fans have long wanted to see Anakin and Ahsoka interact in live-action and it appears they’ve got their wish. The natural assumption is that Christensen will appear in flashbacks, but it’s worth remembering that Ahsoka is during the same time period as The Mandalorian, five years after the events of Return of the Jedi, so I think Skywalker appearing as a force ghost is a strong possibility.

Ahsoka is being written by Dave Filoni and was due to crossover with Rangers of the New Republic being written by Jon Favreau, but Rangers is no longer in active development. Speculation has swirled around the Ahsoka series for months with rumours of casting for Ezra Bridger, Grand Admiral Thrawn, Sabine Wren and Hera Syndulla.

Christensen can next be seen as Darth Vader in Obi-Wan Kenobi arriving on Disney+ next year.
