According to Empire Magazine, Dave Filoni and Kathleen Kennedy will discuss the upcoming series, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Ahsoka and more.
Today Empire Magazine unveiled their covers for the January issue of the magazine featuring The Book of Boba Fett. The issue hits stands on November 25th and boasts new images from the Boba Fett series along with details and interviews with Kathleen Kennedy, Jon Favreau, Robert Rodriguez, Dave Filoni, Ming-Na Wen and Temuera Morrison. However the announcement of the issue also mentions that Lucasfilm president, Kathleen Kennedy and Lucasfilm executive creative director, Dave Filoni, will chat about the future of Star Wars on the small screen and specifically mentions Obi-Wan Kenobi and Ahsoka as projects being talked about along with “more”.
Obi-Wan Kenobi recently had a sizzle reel released on Disney+ featuring interviews with leading man, Ewan McGregor and director Deborah Chow along with concept art of the series. Kenobi wrapped filming at the end of August and is rumoured to be arriving in the mid-late second quarter of next year ahead of Andor and the third season of The Mandalorian, the latter is currently filming and is due to wrap in March.
It was also recently revealed that Ahsoka is set to begin filming in March and is expected to run until the Fall with a 2023 release planned. Rosario Dawson also recently confirmed that Anakin Skywalker himself, Hayden Christensen, will be starring in the series.
It’s unknown what else Kennedy and Filoni will talk about regarding the future of Star Wars series on the small screen, but given Andor is due to release a handful of months after Kenobi next year, you’d assume we could hear about that series. Lucasfilm previously announced the series Lando focussing on Lando Calrissian in December and Rangers of the New Republic which is being executive produced by Filoni and Jon Favreau, the latter of which was also set to pen the series – the last of which we heard was no longer in active development.
