She’s a maniac, maniac, on the floor.
Today Lucasfilm released the first official trailer for the upcoming Disney+ series, The Book of Boba Fett and one of the standout shots of the trailer featured two Twi’leks.
Deadline are reporting that the Twi’lek in focus is none other than Flashdance lead Jennifer Beals. Beals is a Golden Globe award nominated actress and who has also been nominated for NAACP Image Awards for her roles in Devil In a Blue Dress in which she starred alongside Denzel Washington and TV series, The L Word. Beals also won an NAACP Image Award for her performance in Flashdance.
Beals in recent years is best known for her TV work, starring in series such as Swamp Thing, Castle, Lie to Me, The Chicago Code, Taken and most recently in The L Word: Generation Q. Beals joins the cats of Temuera Morrison as Boba Fett and Ming-Na Wen as Fennec Shand. Pedro Pascal is rumoured to be reprising the role of Din Djarin in The Mandalorian spin-off series, as is Timothy Olyphant who is rumoured to be returning to the role of fan favourite, Cobb Vanth.
Details on Jennifer Beals character in The Book of Boba Fett are unsurprisingly being kept under-wraps at this time.
The Book of Boba Fett premieres on December 29th exclusively on Disney+. Whilst we’re here, let’s celebrate Jennifer Beals joining the cast by jamming out to the classic Maniac by Michael Sembello, taken from the Flashdance soundtrack.
