The latest issue of Empire Magazine featuring an insight into The Book of Boba Fett hits stands later this week and the outlet has released an excerpt from creator Jon Favreau.

The Book of Boba Fett will pick up immediately where The Mandalorian season two left off according to Empire and will depict Boba’s foray into crime-boss territory. Series creator, Jon Favreau told Empire, “There is a power vacuum, because Jabba is gone. Jabba was clearly a very strong and imposing leader, who people were very scared of and who seemed to rule with an iron fist. You pull somebody like that out of the ecosystem of Tatooine and Hutt space in general and you have an opportunity that’s ripe in the gangster genre. Although Boba Fett is a very experienced bounty hunter, he’s not experienced at running a criminal syndicate or managing forces, he’s not normally a newcomer. He’s an expert as we see him in most areas. But in this case, he’s trying to transition into another position.”

Elsewhere showrunner and director, Robert Rodriguez teases seeing Boba’s true colours in the upcoming series, telling Empire, “We’ll see a lot more of his true character this season and you’ll definitely see him have to turn barbarian mode.”

The Book of Boba Fett will hit our screens on December 29th and the latest issue of Empire arrives on stands later this week. The latest issue focuses on the upcoming Disney+ series, so we’re bound to get more details from The Book of Boba Fett as the week goes on.
