Hello there! Today I’m excited to share what I personally consider a pretty fun exclusive, especially if you’re a fan of Star Wars: Rebels. According to my sources, the Grand Inquisitor is in the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series and will be played by Rupert Friend.

I had separate sources relay this information to me over the course of a handful of weeks, with one source initially telling me that Friend is an Inquisitor and sported white make-up, and a second source outright telling me that Friend is the Grand Inquisitor. Personally I’m not too familiar with Friends’ work, but Rupert Friend is probably best known for his portrayal of the titular character in Hitman: Agent 47.

The sources added that there are at least three Inquisitors with Rupert Friend portraying the Grand Inquisitor along with Moses Ingram (The Queen’s Gambit) playing an Inquisitor, and Sung Kang (Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift). Previously it was reported by Cinelinx that Kang was playing the fifth brother, and though my sources didn’t know the name of the character Kang plays, one did say that the character has a headpiece that’s somewhat similar to the one the Fifth Brother sports in Star Wars: Rebels and that he spent hours in make-up. As for Ingram I was told that she didn’t have to spend anywhere near as much time in the make-up chair as Friend and Kang, with my belief being that she looks more like her usual self. I also was unable to get the name of Ingram’s character, and what numbered Inquisitor she’s playing, but my belief is that she’s a new and previously unseen Inquisitor.

My sources didn’t add many other details, but did say that Ingram was the most important Inquisitor out of the three and based off of some very small tidbits I’ve heard about the series and the Inquisitors, she could prove to be pivotal to a plot point within the series.

No official release date for Obi-Wan Kenobi has been formally announced by Disney or Lucasfilm, but according to The Hollywood Reporter, the series will indeed release sometime in May as many fans have hoped.

Stay tuned to Bespin Bulletin as I’ll have more to share on the Obi-Wan Kenobi series over the coming weeks and months, and if you appreciate work then perhaps consider tipping me via my Ko-Fi page, which you can find here. Thank you.
