According to a new report from TV Line, the third season of The Mandalorian will hit around Christmas time.

TV Line’s inside line covered an array of series today, but the one we care about is The Mandalorian. TV Line simply said that they believe it’s a safe bet that The Mandalorian’s third season will premiere around Christmas time. This shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise as myself and other reporters/insiders have all circled the December release for quite sometime and have been very vocal about it on social media.

The third season of The Mandalorian began production in September at Manhattan Beach Studios, and will wrap filming sometime in March, which gives the team more than enough time to turn around the episodes in post-production for a very late 2022 release. The first season of Mando wrapped in February 2019 and managed a November release, and season two wrapped in March 2020 and despite a pandemic, managed to release in October 2020. Even more recently we saw an incredibly fast turnaround with Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni’s latest project, The Book of Boba Fett, which wrapped in June and managed to premiere just six short months later.

Following the wrap-up of The Book of Boba Fett tonight, fans will only have to wait three months for the next live-action Star Wars series, Obi-Wan Kenobi, which fans are hoping will debut on the May the fourth, but I wouldn’t rule out May the twenty fifth as a release date either. Kenobi is reportedly six episodes long and will be directed entirely be Deborah Chow (The Mandalorian). If you want more on Kenobi, you can read an exclusive report of mine here regarding a familiar Star Wars: Rebels character making an appearance.

Later in the year we can expect to finally see the Rogue One spin-off series, Andor, which will debut sometime before October. Since last summer I’ve been exclusively reporting on my podcast, BOB The Podcast, that the series would release in August or September this year, and Disney later in 2021 confirmed that Andor would release sometime between the start of July and before the start of October. Andor filmed twelve episodes, but it’s unknown if Disney will divide the twelve episodes into two six episode seasons, or if they’ll release the twelve as one whole season. Recently actor Stellan Skarsgård revealed that a second season of Andor begins filming this Fall, which you can read more about here.

This year is set to be an exciting one for Star Wars fans with multiple live-action series, possibly two video games, a second season of The Bad Batch, along with more exciting announcements later in the year. It’s a great time to be a fan!
