The Star Wars anime anthology is reportedly getting a second season according to a new report from Cinelinx.
According to the report, a second season of Visions is in active development and has been since the release of the first season back in September. The report goes on to say that they’ve heard that the second season will arrive sometime this Fall (naming September and October specifically) and that the second season will feature returning studios from the first season with planned follow-ups on certain stories from said season, however some new studios will be working on the second season also.
Lastly the report mentions that they’ve heard that an announcement and footage could be seen at Star Wars Celebration that takes between May 26th and May 29th. Currently the only panels announced for Celebration are a Coming Soon panel featuring showcases of Obi-Wan Kenobi, Andor, and The Mandalorian season three, the Mando+ panel, and a panel dedicated to Star Wars: The Bad Batch. There’s also a new rumour floating around that a Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi panel will be announced for May 27th.
Personally I heard whispers of a follow-up to Visions as early as last Fall, but had nothing worth writing about or enough evidence to support the rumours. I enjoyed Visions and would definitely be happy to see more stories from these incredible studios, and I hope this rumour is true. We are set to get a plethora of Star Wars TV this year with the release of Obi-Wan Kenobi, Andor, The Bad Batch season two and The Mandalorian season three, so I don’t think we exactly need it this year, but I’d be more than happy to take it.
