Just a short handful of hours after the official Obi-Wan Kenobi Twitter account announced a new trailer for the highly anticipated series would arrive today, it’s just been released alongside a brand new poster for the series.

Whew! Now that’s a trailer. We finally get a glimpse of Kenobi’s fallen apprentice, Darth Vader, in probably the most shocking scene in the newly released trailer as we see droids piecing him back together and hear his iconic breathing. I think a full spoiler breakdown of the trailer is in order, so if you don’t want to be spoiled, now is the time to leave.

Reva (L), Grand Inquisitor (M), and the Fifth Brother (R) on Tatooine.

We see the Inquisitors arrive on Tatooine, as they’re in search of a Jedi, but not the one you think. The Inquisitors are seeking out a Jedi named Nari on the planet and interrogate locals regarding his location. Eventually the trio find the rogue Jedi as we saw in the teaser trailer, and string him up for all to see. We hear a voice over from Kenobi telling somebody to stay hidden, with the trailer implying he may be talking to Owen Lars or Luke, but I think he could be talking with Nari as the young Jedi manages to locate Kenobi on Tatooine and asks for his help, which the Jedi master refuses and advises the Jedi to bury his lightsabers and to leave him alone.

Owen Lars and Obi-Wan Kenobi

We see a dispute between Owen Lars and Obi-Wan, with the latter telling Lars that when the time comes that Luke Skywalker should be trained. Lars rejects this idea and puts a dagger through Kenobi’s heart by responding, “Like you trained his father?”. Owen and Obi-Wan are set to have a frosty relationship throughout the series, something that continues into A New Hope. As we’ve seen from the past trailer and officially released images, Lars gets interrogated by Reva as she and her fellow Inquisitors seek out a Jedi on the planet.

Unknown Inquisitor, Reva, Fifth Brother, Imperial Officer played by Indira Varma.

Just like the teaser trailer, we get multiple glimpses at the Inquisitors and at their base, Fortress Inquisitorious, located on Nur which was previously seen in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. We hear an unknown voice ask, “You still want Kenobi? He’s gone” to which Reva replies, “Maybe you’ve been looking in the wrong places” as we see glimpses of her on the planets Nur and Daiyu, the latter of which we also see Obi-Wan fighting off some goons which I believe are guarding the spice den that Leia Organa is being held captive.

Reva, Purge Troopers, and Stormtroopers.

As the trailer intensifies we hear Reva scream, “You can’t win Obi-Wan”, as we see Kenobi fighting off Stormtroopers on Tatooine with a blaster, the unknown droid seen in the first trailer fighting on Daiyu, and Reva spinning her lightsaber on Nur as blaster fire speeds past her. The latter scene is likely taken from scenes later in the series when Kenobi and some friends travel to Nur to rescue Leia Organa who’s been kidnapped by the Inquisitors, and during his time at the fortress he confronts not only the Inquisitors, but his former apprentice for the first of two duels in the series.

Darth Vader being pieced together.

As the music swells and we see quick flashes of Kumail Nanjiani’s unknown character, Leia’s droid (Lola) being held by Reva, shots of Stormtroopers, Purge Troopers, Inquisitors, Daiyu, and Kenobi, we hear Reva scream, “You can’t escape him”, as we see glimpses of Darth Vader being put back together and see an ominous shot of Obi-Wan as we hear Vader’s iconic breathing.
