Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has officially been announced at Star Wars Celebration alongside the first trailer. You may recall back in January I was the first to report that the sequel to Fallen Order would debut at this event which was later backed up by various other outlets and insiders including Jeff Grubb in the months that followed.

According to the official Survivor press release, the title takes place five years after the events of Fallen Order and confirms the video game will only be available on current generation consoles (Playstation 5, Xbox Series X|S) and PC. No official release date was announced outside of 2023, but recent rumours have suggested that Survivor will release in February or March 2023.

Director of Survivor, Stig Asmussen, told StarWars.com that the game finds and Cal in the darkest of times and that he and the Mantis crew are doing whatever it takes to stay alive, hence the the title. Asmussen also hinted at Cal making connections with unsavoury sorts of people, and that can be seen in the teaser trailer.

The teaser trailer left fans with many questions, with the main one being – is that the Grand Inquisitor? No, it’s not. According to the game director, Stig Asmussen, the character that bares a shocking resemblance to the Grand Inquisitor is actually an Imperial Senator of the same species.

Another mystery left for fans to solve is an appearance of an unknown character inside of a Bacta tank. The trailer built up to this moment so it’s seemingly one of great importance to Survivor. Many fans are already speculating that perhaps the character is Talon Malicos or a clone of Malicos from Fallen Order, but we’ll have to wait for answers as the game director stayed quiet on the subject and StarWars.com referred to Cal encountering this individual as “uncovering a mystery”, however eagle eyed fans have points out that the mystery Bacta man is likely the same red lightsaber wielding individual Cal is duelling in the teaser as both are missing their right arm.
