During the Lucasfilm Studios Showcase panel at Star Wars Celebration, Jon Watts (Spider-Man: No Way Home) and Christopher Ford (Chaos Walking) took to the stage to give new details on their mystery series, codenamed Grammar Rodeo. The duo revealed that the series takes place after the events of Star Wars: Return of the Jedi and is set during the same era as The Mandalorian, and that both Jon Favreau (creator of The Mandalorian) and Dave Filoni (executive producer on The Mandalorian) are producers on the series.

Watts and Ford then revealed the official title of the series, Skeleton Crew. The duo said that it focuses on a group of kids who are lost in the galaxy and just want to find their way. They did stress that just because it stars children, it’s not a show specifically made for children. They then announced a single cast member, Jude Law (Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore) and that fans can expect the series next year.

Just last week Lucasfilm confirmed the existence of Grammar Rodeo to Vanity Fair where they revealed the series was inspired by Amblin films of the 1980’s. I’ve previously reported that the series is due to begin filming next month and will shoot up until December this year, so a 2023 release lines up with that production schedule. Law himself was leaked a couple of months ago by celebrity gossip Instagram account DeuxMoi, but at the time of writing this, no other cast members have been rumoured.
