This rumour comes via MakingStarWars who’s reporting they saw footage of the actor playing Ezra Bridger. The footage showed Ezra in an orange outfit and that the outfit was somewhat reminiscent of Galen Marek’s from Star Wars: The Force Unleashed with new orange shoulder armour. However during the video the actor is referred to as Yuvan, and MSW believes it’s the actor pictured – Yuvan.

There isn’t a whole lot to be found regarding this actor online, but Yuvan appears to be a stage name of the actor, but he’s he’s gone by other names such as Sattai Yuvan, and his birth name, Ajmal Khan. Yuvan was born in India, is the son of film director Feroze Khan, and has only starred in Tamil-language films such as Vilayattu Arambam, and Adutha Saattai.

If this is true then it appears Lucasfilm have gone will a relatively unknown and have not leaned in to more well known actors. Since last year many fans have championed Aladdin star Mena Massoud for the role after the actor shared a line of Ezra’s from Star Wars: Rebels on his Instagram, but the Royal Treatment actor later claimed he wasn’t hinting at landing the Ezra role, but merely attempted to will it into existence as he’d heard they were looking to cast the role.

Ahsoka began filming earlier this month and is due to release in 2023. Currently the only confirmed cast members are Rosario Dawson in the titular role and Natasha Liu Bordizzo (The Voyeurs) as fan-favourite Sabine Wren. It’s also been reported that Hayden Christensen will reprise the role of Anakin Skywalker for the series, and that Ivanna Sakhno (The Spy Who Dumped Me), Ray Stevenson (Vikings), and Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Birds of Prey) have also been cast in the series, with the latter rumoured to be playing Hera Syndulla.
