Production on Ahsoka began just mere weeks ago, and though we’ve heard rumblings of actors being attached to the project, including Hayden Christensen, it’s now being reported that Darth Vader may be making an appearance in The Mandalorian spin-off.

According to a report by MakingStarWars, he’s heard from at least two sources that Vader will be making an appearance in an upcoming television series with signs pointing towards that series being Ahsoka. The report also adds that the voice of James Earl Jones will be used for Lord Vader once again which will likely please many fans. I can corroborate the claim from MakingStarWars, that Darth Vader will be returning in an upcoming series, as I too have heard this from sources in recent times, with my belief also being it’s likely the Ahsoka series premiering on Disney+ sometime next year.

If the upcoming appearance from Darth Vader is in the Ahsoka series, it begs the question what’s the context? Hayden Christensen has been reported to be in the series with many believing he’ll be reprising the role of Anakin Skywalker, so maybe we’ll see flashbacks from Skywalker’s point of view. However another option, and perhaps the more likely is maybe we’ll see the duel between Ahsoka and Darth Vader in Star Wars: Rebels recreated in live-action for the Ahsoka series.

Hayden Christensen isn’t the only unconfirmed actor attached to the series at this time, Ivanna Sakhno (High Fidelity), Ray Stevenson (Vikings), and Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Birds of Prey) have all been reported to be involved with the production, with the latter rumoured to be playing Hera Syndulla.
