As fans eagerly await the highly anticipated sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Lucasfilm have announced not one, but two tie-in novels to Survivor.

Lucasfilm announced that a novel set in the five years between the events of Fallen Order and Survivor, will be released on March 7th, 2023. The book is titled Star Wars Jedi: Battle Scars will see Cal Kestis along with the Mantis crew embark on an epic adventure, with being written by Sam Maggs, who was previously writing the upcoming Knights of the Old Republic Remake, and has written on video games such as Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, and Tiny Tina’s Wonderland.

The second book is The Art of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor which will release on May 2nd, 2023 and chronicles the development of the highly anticipated sequel featuring concept art and creator commentary.

Though I’m very excited to read Battle Scars, the most interesting piece of information from this announcement is the release window. Battle Scars is set to release on March 7th, with The Art of on May 2nd, giving us an insight as to when to expect Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. Typically The Art of books release after the Star Wars project it’s based on releases, however that was not the case for Fallen Order. We know from reliable insider Jeff Grubb that a March release is what’s being targeted by Electronic Arts and Respawn Entertainment, Grubb also reiterated that the game is still slated for March today, with the PlayStation Network previously having backend data dating Survivor for March also.
