According to Twitter user Aesokas, LucasFilm are planning to travel to Caithness, Scotland to film scenes for the upcoming High Republic era series, The Acolyte. The user is most notably known for sharing plot details along with video evidence of Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi, and though just because they got details correct on one project, it doesn’t mean they’ll get it on another, but in a previous report of theirs regarding The Acolyte, some lined up with things I’d heard and seen personally, so for now we’re covering their content as a rumour.

The Twitter user claims that filming on the series will begin in October, which has been known since the Spring and that filming will run until May next year. The Twitter user claims that the series will film with the volume for its first few months, which isn’t a surprise given that when the series was initially set to film at Pinewood Studios, it was going to use the stagecraft technology. It’s also worth mentioning that I’d previously exclusively reported that the series will film at the newly built Shinfield Studios, Reading.

The user goes on to say that once filming with the volume has been completed, the series will embark to Scotland to film scenes at Caithness. The user didn’t point out specifically where in the Caithness or what the scenes entail, but given the look of the area I’d be inclined to believe it may be for scenes on Aura’s (played by Amandla Stenberg) home planet, Sanshiro. Sanshiro features marshland, large hills, snowy mountains and flowing rivers, something that the Scottish landscape could capture beautifully.
