Filming has been ongoing on the live-action Star Wars series, Skeleton Crew, since June and is expected to run until the end of the year. During this time we haven’t learned much or seen much from the series, even in an unofficial capacity. Primarily Skeleton Crew has been filming at Manhattan Beach Studios, the studio used for The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett and Obi-Wan Kenobi. Currently Skeleton Crew and Ahsoka occupy Manhattan Beach Studios, with the latter also filming at a train yard lot in El Segundo which has been used for the aforementioned series such as Mando etc. With Ahsoka filming often at the lot in El Segundo, it meant that Skeleton Crew would find other locations to film outside of Manhattan Beach, with one of those being California State University at Dominguez Hills.
We’ve occasionally visited the University since filming began in June in hopes of seeing a glimpse at what’s being filmed, but the spot is well covered. However in recent days another visit took place, and though we couldn’t see scenes being filmed, we did spot an object covered in tarp which bared a silhouette familiar to fans of the prequel trilogy. The silhouette of the object reminded us of the armoured assault tank used by the Separatists and seen in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace.
Across the pond, pre-production on The Acolyte is well underway with filming expected to begin next month at Shinfield Studios, Berkshire. The Acolyte is believed to begin production inside of the studio first before venturing out to use some practical sets, one of which is being built behind Shinfield Studios. As you can see from the newly uncovered image below, the set located behind Shinfield Studios is quite a ways away from being ready for filming and more than likely won’t be used when filming begins next month.
