As production nears for Star Wars: The Acolyte, another new cast member has come to light in the form of Russian Doll star, Charlie Barnett.

The Hollywood Reporter are reporting that Russian Doll star, Charlie Barnett, has been cast in the High Republic era live-action series being developed for Disney+. No additional details Barnett’s role were revealed other than his casting is in a supporting role. However I’m sure we’ll know more on Barnett’s role in the coming months as The Acolyte is set to begin filming next month at Shinfield Studios, Berkshire with filming expected to run until May.

As mentioned previously, Barnett starred in Russian Doll, the hit Netflix series created by Leslye Headland who is the writer, director and show runner of The Acolyte. Barnett has also starred in high profile television series such as Arrow, You, and Orange is the New Black.

Barnett joins the growing talented cast of The Acolyte which includes Amandla Stenberg (Bodies, Bodies, Bodies) in the lead role alongside the Emmy award winning, Lee Jaung-Jae (Squid Game) in the male lead role, Manny Jacinto (The Good Place) and Jodie Turner-Smith (Queen & Slim). Recently three other names have been linked to the series, which should be considered as probably unlikely and taken as an extreme rumour as it’s coming from past leakers Aesokas and Nurudo who leaked details on the series in the past, but have been appearing in various discords and Reddit under different names, with the actors supposedly attached being Charlie Tahan (Ozark), Nova Foueillis-Mose (House of the Dragon) and Frances Conroy (Joker), but again take these as rumours.
