Hello there! We’ve known for quite sometime that Star Wars: The Acolyte would be filming this October in the United Kingdom, with filming expected to run until May. Just a couple of months ago I exclusively revealed that the production will take place at the newly constructed Shinfield Studios in Berkshire, and now sets have been photographed being constructed at the location backing up said report.
Last week I was alerted by several readers that there was movement at Shinfield Studios with sets being constructed in a nearby field, and there was a lot of activity at Shinfield Studios itself. Courtesy of Berkshire Live, we now have images of the set being built in a field behind the studio. I’ve spoken to some people in the area with their belief being that the set is most certainly for a Star Wars project or a Disney production. It was previously confirmed that a Disney production would be one of Shinfield Studios’ first clients, which currently houses four stages with plans to expand to 18 over the next couple of years.
According to documents submitted to Wokingham Borough Council stated that the production will run from October until April in the temporary backlot in which the recently spotted set was located. This backs up previous reports that The Acolyte would begin filming in October.
Production on various Star Wars series is set to heat up this Fall, especially in the United Kingdom which will see both Star Wars: The Acolyte and Andor season two filming in the final quarter of the year with the latter filming in November at supposedly both Pinewood Studios and Elstre Studios. Stateside it’s rumoured that The Mandalorian season four will begin filming sometime this September at Manhattan Beach Studios. Currently both Ahsoka and Skeleton Crew are filming stateside with both productions expected to wrap filming by the years end.
