Back in April, myself and MakingStarWars both reported that we’d heard via our separate sources that the second season of Andor would begin filming in November of this year, with myself reporting that filming would take place at Pinewood Studios, and MakingStarWars reporting that the season would film at Elstree Studios. Today the showrunner of the series, Tony Gilroy, has confirmed that the second season begins filming this November.
Following the initial reports from MakingStarWars and myself, it was later reported that the second season would film this Fall, but no specific timeframe was mentioned outside of what I and MSW previously reported. In an interview with The Wrap, Gilroy has confirmed that production of Andor season two will run from November until August;
“We start shooting in November on Part 2. And I don’t know if … Our past pattern was two years, but I mean, I’ll be on … We’ll shoot from November to August. And then our post[-production] last time was about a year.” – Tony Gilroy
As you can see from the quote above, Gilroy reveals that the second season of Andor will not hit our screens until sometime in the latter half of 2024, more than likely the Fall, similarly to the roll out of Andor’s first season which debuts on Disney+ in just two days time.
Pre-production is well underway in the U.K. for the second season of Andor as is pre-production on The Acolyte from Leslye Headland which begins filming next month at Shinfield Studios, Berkshire. Stateside production is ongoing for Ahsoka and Skeleton Crew, the latter of which I’ll be sharing some things on over the next two weeks, and there were rumours of the fourth season of The Mandalorian looking to begin filming this Fall.
I kept a close eye on the Andor production for season one, reporting various and exclusives along with pictures, and will be sure to do so again for its second season. I am currently sitting on more information on Andor season one from trustworthy sources which I’ll release soon, but if you want to keep up-to-date with the latest leaks, news, reputable rumours, and my exclusive reports, then be sure to sign up to my mailing list below.
