It was only last week that Jeff Sneider revealed that Damon Lindelof’s untitled Star Wars film was taking the December 2025 release date that was originally pencilled in for the long awaited Taika Waititi movie, but Jeff returns with another exciting Star Wars update courtesy of The Hot Mic, a podcast he co-hosts with John Rocha. During the latest episode, Sneider revealed that Dafne Keen, who is best known for appearing as X-23 in Logan and as a star of the HBO series His Dark Materials, has joined the growing cast of the live-action Star Wars series, The Acolyte.

I heard a little casting nugget, this’ll be for The Acolyte. The series, The Acolyte. Dafne Keen, who played X-23 in Logan, is going to be joining The Acolyte. I don’t have any official confirmation on that yet, but I expect that’ll be in a couple of weeks maybe.” – Jeff Sneider via The Hot Mic

Keen joins an ever talented cast led by Bodies, Bodies, Bodies star, Amandla Stenberg. The rest of the currently announced cast of the series includes, Lee Jung-Jae (Squid Game) who’s being touted as the male lead. Jodie Turner Smith (White Noise), Manny Jacinto (The Good Place) and Charlie Barnett (Russian Doll). The series focuses on the emergence of the dark-side during the final years of the High Republic era and will be show run by the series creator Leslye Headland (Russian Doll) who will also serve as director.

We exclusively reported last week that The Acolyte has started filming at Shinfield Studios, Berkshire and that production on the series is scheduled to run up until May.
