Hello there! Before we continue with the article I kindly ask you to consider showing your support and appreciation for my work by tipping me via my Ko-Fi page here. Tips are quite rare around these parts, but I assure you no matter how big or small, each tip is deeply appreciated. Now, let’s get on with the news!

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor was officially announced back in May alongside a teaser trailer for the game. Since then official news has been quiet, but two months ago I exclusively reported that a brand new trailer would debut at this years Game Awards, and a brand new gameplay trailer has just been unveiled at the event.

The trailer see’s Cal coming face to face with a variety of new enemies including B1 Battle Droids, BX Commando Droids, Super Battle Droids, Magna Guards, Imperial Sentry Droids (the ones that look like Darktroopers) and even a Wampa, along with returning enemies from the Fallen Order such as Stormtroopers, KX Security Droids and Flametroopers to name a few. Kestis also interacts with a variety of creatures throughout the trailer and uses a couple for traversal which is a neat addition to the game if you ask me.

Cal can see piloting the Mantis, but besides BD-1, the only ally from Jedi: Fallen Order seen in the trailer is Cal’s fellow Jedi and friend, Cere, who sports a new look and has a collection of Jedi archives. Neither Greeze or Merrin are present in the gameplay trailer, but Cal appears to have a new ally, a character who gives off some serious Kyle Katarn/Dash Rendar vibes, named Bode, who gives our hero a helping hand on Coruscant and assists him in combat on an unknown planet.

Not much regarding the story is revealed during the trailer, but the mysterious man in the Bacta Tank seen in the teaser trailer appears to be Cal’s main foe this time around. Kestis seems to let the unknown character out of the Bacta Tank who then vows not to be imprisoned again, with the implication being that it was the Jedi who placed him there. Throughout the trailer the villain references the Jedi order no longer existing, and his large henchman, who some believe is the same species as Durge from the 2D Clone Wars series – a Gen’Dai, also utters a line about reminding Cal why his kind are supposed to be dead.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will release on March 17th on PC, and current generation consoles, Playstation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
