Hello there! Before we continue with the article, I kindly ask you to consider showing your support and appreciation for my work by tipping me via my Ko-Fi page here. Tips are quite rare around these parts, but I assure you no matter how big or small, each tip is deeply appreciated. Now, let’s get on with the news!

The Disney CCXP panel is underway and around an hour in the Lucasfilm segment began with The Mandalorian himself, Pedro Pascal, took to the stage to thunderous applause as he began talking about working on the upcoming third season of the hit Disney+ series. Pascal discussed working on the third season and how much of an honour it is to be part of the Star Wars universe before he was joined virtually by series creator, Jon Favreau, and executive producer, Dave Filoni. Favreau apologised for not being able to attend the event in person but claimed the reason is because he’s busy, “working on more Star Wars”, but Favreau didn’t come empty handed as he and Dave announced that the third season of The Mandalorian will hit our screens on March 1st.

Favreau didn’t divulge what Star Wars projects he’s currently working on, but he’s an executive producer on Skeleton Crew, a series created by Jon Watts and Chris Ford, which is currently filming in California and is set to release sometime next year. Favreau has also been writing the scripts for The Mandalorian season four over the past few months, with the season rumoured to begin filming within the first quarter of next year.

Not much else was revealed about the third season of The Mandalorian, but Filoni and Favreau did tease that there’s some big surprises this season, which they’re hoping to keep secret until it’s release, but that the season itself will feature more space battles and Mandalorian’s than ever before, with the scope of the season being greater than anything that’s come before. However before signing off, Pascal, Favreau and Filoni debuted some exclusive footage to those in attendance at CCXP, currently I do not have a description of said footage, but I’ll have a new post up once I do.

Unfortunately the release date for The Mandalorian season three was the only Star Wars related content at Disney’s CCXP panel, though Lucasfilm did finally unveil the teaser trailer for the fifth entry in the Indiana Jones franchise, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. Elsewhere Marvel Studios released the first trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, as well as a sneak peek at Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, and 20th Century showcased eighteen minutes of Avatar: The Way of Water.
