Hello there! Before we continue I kindly ask you to consider showing your support and appreciation for my work by tipping me via my Ko-Fi page. Tips are quite rare around these parts, but I assure you no matter how big or small, each tip is deeply appreciated.

Just last week Lucasfilm released all nine episodes of Star Wars: Visions volume two, an animated anthology series of shorts from various animation studios from around the globe. The latest volume which featured episodes from Aardman Animations (Chicken Run) and Studio Mir (The Legend of Korra) released on May the 4th and received critical acclaim and a positive response from fans. Its now being reported by two separate sources that Lucasfilm is already hard at work on a third volume of the series.

Insider and journalist, Jeff Sneider, reported on the latest episode of his podcast, The Hot Mic, that a third season is already in development at Lucasfilm, but had no additional details to. Later the same day, One Take News, reported that they too have independently heard that a third season is already underway, with unknown studios already starting work on their contracted episodes.

If the past is anything to go by, then we likely won’t officially hear about a third season until development of the season is much further along. Lucasfilm didn’t announce a second season of Star Wars: Visions until May of 2022, despite rumours of a second season being in some form of development since the Fall of 2021. I’ve asked around about a third season myself and heard the same as Sneider and OTN, that yes there’s plans for a third volume of episodes, but that we shouldn’t expect to see them for a minimum of eighteen months.

All episodes of Star Wars: Visions Volume 2 are currently available on Disney+.
