Temuera Morrison, the actor who debuted in the Star Wars universe in Star Wars: Attack of the Clones in 2002 as Jango Fett, and went on to the face and voice of the Clone Troopers in Star Wars live-action projects, and returned as Jango’s son, the legendary bounty hunter Boba Fett in recent years, is reportedly set to star in the upcoming Ahsoka series which is set to bow on Disney+ this August.

The report comes from One Take News, the outlet that previously revealed various directors of the Star Wars series Skeleton Crew, which will release in November or December of this year. One Take are reporting that Morrison will feature in the Ahsoka series in some capacity, with their belief being that the actor is set to play the fan-favourite Captain Rex who’s a close ally and friend of Ahsoka Tano. The outlet do not know if Morrison will be playing Rex is flashbacks or if he’ll play Rex in the present.

Personally I’ve seen evidence that Morrison might have involvement in the Ahsoka series, but wasn’t confident enough in running a story of his return to the Star Wars franchise, but clearly One Take News are. The return of Morrison in live-action Star Wars comes after the actor previously revealed that he was hoping to feature in The Mandalorian season three, but that hope did not become a reality despite unfounded rumours. Morrison made a brief cameo as a down on his luck Clone Trooper in the successful Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ series last year, and Morrison headlined The Mandalorian spin-off, The Book of Boba Fett in 2021. Morrison and his co-star, Ming Na Wen, have both been vocal in wanting a second season of Fett, but as of this time there’s been no word on if the series will get a second season.

Though is not confirmed, it’s likely Morrison will get to return to the Star Wars universe at some point, with fans speculating that Boba Fett could and likely would feature in the upcoming Dave Filoni directed Star Wars movie. The feature film is set to act as an exciting crossover event of the various series set during the time period of The Mandalorian, which Dave Filoni and The Mandalorian creator, Jon Favreau, executive produced which includes The Book of Boba Fett and Ahsoka.

Ahsoka is set to be released sometime in August exclusively on Disney+.
