Today a reliable social media user, who’s revealed many accurate runtimes in the past, has shared the runtime for the two episode Ahsoka premiere due to debut on Disney+ later this month.

Before we continue with news of the day, I’d just like to share that you can now follow me on Threads here. Also, you can support my work in two ways. Firstly it’s via my newly created Patreon page which has a single tier at this time simply to support my work. Secondly you can tip me with a simple one off payment on my Ko-Fi page or you can choose to support my work monthly on the platform. I’d truly appreciate it if you decided to support my work, but no pressure, I know things are pretty tough out here. Anyway, back to the reason you came here – the news!

According to X user, Cryptic HD Quality, the first two episodes of Ahsoka, which debut on August 23rd as a two episode premiere, have a combined runtime of 1 hour and 36 minutes. The X user shared that they acquired the information regarding the runtime from press screenings, but unfortunately did not know, or at least share, what the runtime of the individual episodes were. On average it computes to around 48 minutes per episode – it’s unlikely both episodes will be that runtime, it’s just 1 hour 36 divided by two.

The average of the two episodes are longer than most episodes of The Mandalorian season three, with only two episodes of the eight episode season boasting runtimes as long or longer than the average of the first two Ahsoka episodes. Previously it was mentioned by the series creator of Ahsoka and executive producer of The Mandalorian, Dave Filoni, that the Ahsoka series would have runtimes similar to that of The Mandalorian season three, if not a tad longer.

Personally I have no opinion on the episodes length. I know some have a strange obsession with wanting episodes be an hour long, or at least over forty five minutes, but to me, the episode length does not matter in the slightest as long as the episode in question is paced well. I personally don’t care if an episode is thirty minutes or sixty minutes, as long as it does the story justice and the pacing is correct. Perhaps some feel as if they’re getting more bang for their buck if an episode is longer, but if it’s at the expense of its pacing and storytelling then it’s failed at that notion if you were to ask me.
