Earlier today, Ubisoft debuted the second trailer for Star Wars: Outlaws, which is dubbed the story trailer, following last Summer’s reveal. Ubisoft launched pre-orders for the title, announced a season pass and confirmed the release date of August 30th for Outlaws. It was a big news day for those eagerly anticipating the game, but there was no ‘wow’ moment that many Star Wars trailers, including video game trailers, feature. However, the most interesting piece of news today surrounding Outlaws, in my opinion, came from Game Informer and centres around a character many fans have been asking to see again.

Star Wars: Outlaws is Game Informer magazine’s cover story for this month and within the issue, a new image featuring Qi’Ra from Solo: A Star Wars Story in Outlaws was revealed. The magazine didn’t reveal any details about the character, not even if Emilia Clarke would return to voice her, though it would be pretty cool if she did.

Fans got the reveal earlier today during the Outlaws trailer that Crimson Dawn would be part of the video game. Some fans speculated and debated that Qi’Ra was featured in the trailer as a white woman with brown hair working for Crimson Dawn was shown, but this character is apparently not Qi’Ra. I do find it quite strange that Ubisoft opted not to show Qi’Ra in their trailer, it would’ve got many fans talking, especially when it was revealed later in the day, along with an in-game image, that Qi’Ra would feature in Outlaws.

Personally I’m interested in seeing Qi’Ra again, I like the character a fair bit and it’s definitely raised my interest in Outlaws. Unfortunately I have not been sold on Outlaws from the two trailers released, the game looks fine, but it has yet to really capture my excitement. Though I will be there on August 30th playing, I mean, it’s a Star Wars video game, it’s rare one actually releases, so how could I pass on this opportunity? As we inch closer to the release of Outlaws, I hope there’s more that draws me in. I’m sure we’ll be seeing a lot more of the game in the coming weeks and months, especially at Ubisoft’s summer event, Ubisoft Forward.
