Over 25 minutes of the Star Wars The Mandalorian and Grogu film is going to be showing over 2 weeks early in select cinemas. We are just 1 month away from Star Wars’ big screen return after almost 7 years but fans will be able to watch a sizeable portion of the film well ahead of its release date.
On Wednesday evening, Lucasfilm announced that they have partnered with IMAX to offer an extremely exciting Star Wars day opportunity. One of the big May 4th events will be an advance screening of Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu.
According to the event’s landing page, fans can go and watch over 25 minutes from the upcoming film in IMAX for free on Monday May 4th. It will take place at select IMAX screens simultaneously at 7pm local time. It is also a US-only event meaning if you’re outside of that country, you can’t experiences this event.
All attendees will be gifted a limited-edition mini poster at their screening. The poster can be seen below.

Press and select fans had the chance to watch around 20 minutes of the film and preview events in recent weeks. We provided a written description of what happens here. Given the similar length of footage, we’d expect this special preview to be an extended version of the one we just mentioned.
Last week, we learned that around 50 minutes of the movie was filmed in IMAX. That means fans attending this screening could end up seeing over half of the IMAX footage from the film.
