Andor Season 2 to begin filming in November

According to a new report from MakingStarWars, Andor is looking to begin filming in November at Elstree Studios and production will run for eighteen months, meaning it would end in May 2024 . I was sitting on the Andor November start and waiting for more information on specific details before reporting on it, but the outlet has more specifics on the production than I did, but I can back up the November start. However the only difference is I heard the second season would be filming at Pinewood Studios once again, but there’s a good chance it films at both.

Previously it was revealed by Stellan Skarsgård that a second season of Andor would begin filming sometime in the Fall of this year, but didn’t give a specific month. The first season of Andor began filming in November of 2020 after multiple delays, and wrapped in August the following year.

One thing in the report I find quite odd yet interesting is that the show will film for a whopping eighteen months. As previously mentioned, season one filmed for nine months, so it’s leading me to wonder that if true, are they filming both season two and three? I have no information to support this idea – it’s merely speculation, but that’s an incredibly long time to film one season of a TV series. Another option is possibly another series films straight after Andor’s second season wraps, which then films until May 2024.

I heard the November start a few weeks back, and assumed the production would begin once filming on The Acolyte wrapped up as it was slated to film from May until November at Pinewood, but filming on The Acolyte has now been delayed until October of this year meaning if the High Republic era show is still filming in the United Kingdom, it’ll be the first time two Star Wars series have filmed at the same time. However with so many Star Wars productions in the pipeline, this may become the new normal as stateside Ahsoka is about to begin filming at Manhattan Beach Studios and the unannounced Grammar Rodeo (working title) is set to begin filming in June, with both series filming until late in the year.

I kept a close eye on the Andor production for season one, reporting various and exclusives along with pictures, and will be sure to do so again for its second season. I am currently sitting on more information on Andor season one from trustworthy sources which I’ll release soon, but if you want to keep up-to-date with the latest leaks, news, reputable rumours, and my exclusive reports, then be sure to sign up to my mailing list below.
