Carl Weathers begins filming on The Mandalorian Season 3 tomorrow

Carl Weathers has confirmed that he will begin filming scenes for the third season of The Mandalorian tomorrow.

Weathers took to Twitter to announce that he begins filming scenes as Greef Karga tomorrow, but don’t get it twisted, The Mandalorian season three has been filming since late September at Manhattan Beach Studios, it’s just only now Weathers is starting work. Weathers tweeted, “Mandalorian, season #3 begins for yours truly, on tomorrow. Greef Karga will be back on Disney+. #BePeace”.

I’ve previously reported that filming on the much anticipated third season began the week of September 20th at Manhattan Beach Studios and that filming is due to take place at the train yard, used for exterior filming, sometime this month. Filming on the third season is due to run from late September until March, which is the longest a season of Mando has filmed for. Typically each season has filmed for around four months, but this upcoming third season will film for six. There’s probably no concerning season, my personal assumption is they’ve factored in various actors schedules and filming taking slightly longer due to COVID-19 guidelines.

Leading man Pedro Pascal has yet to film scenes as Din Djarin as he’s been in Canada since July filming HBO’s The Last of Us, but is due to film scenes for The Mandalorian at some point during gaps in his The Last Of Us schedule, but until then the stunt doubles will be filming scenes in his place as they did for the vast majority of season one.

It’s good to get confirmation that the season is underway. Though my track record speaks for itself and I have faith in my sources, many still doubt me and it’s nice to get some confirmation that the season is in-fact underway.
