Today MakingStarWars.net is exclusively reporting exciting new details on the villains set to appear in the upcoming live-action Star Wars series, Ahsoka. According to the report, besides Grand Admiral Thrawn, the main threat of the series is a character named Baylon, played by Vikings star Ray Stevenson. Baylon is reportedly a Jedi who lost his way following the events of Order 66, though it is unknown what his relationship is with Thrawn at the time of writing. Baylon reportedly dons black armour which is reminiscent of that worn by samurai, something that’s had a large influence on the series, and uses a red claymore lightsaber similar in design to Kylo Ren’s. MSW adds in scenes where Baylon is using his unique lightsaber that you can really feel the weight and power of the lightsaber with each swing and hit on an enemy.
The fallen Jedi stands alongside a padawan by the name of Shin (Ivanna Sakhno) in the series. Shin reportedly leads a battalion of Stormtroopers, possibly undead, that sport armour with red and gold cracks keeping the armour together, similar in style to the helmet worn by Kylo Ren in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, along with red bands tied to various parts of their bodies. The outlet didn’t provide many details on the armour and lightsaber used by Shin, but did share that Shin’s lightsaber seems to be far faster and lighter than that of Baylon’s, and that Shin is like a bolt of lightening using it, in stark contrast to Baylon’s heavy and powerful claymore lightsaber which results in slower movements.
From everything I’ve heard and what MakingStarWars has reported, I’m deeply excited and intrigued about the upcoming Ahsoka series.
Ahsoka is slated to release exclusively on Disney+ this Fall and will have a strong presence at this years Star Wars Celebration, which kicks off a week tomorrow. Two months ago I reported that a trailer would debut at the event, but currently I do not know if it’s planned to be shown at the Lucasfilm Studio Showcase or the dedicated Ahsoka panel.
