    EXCLUSIVE: Andor has finished filming

After speaking with multiple sources I can confirm that Andor has finally wrapped.

Last week I checked in with my Pinewood Studios sources on the Andor production on August 18th and they were very much still busy filming which I first mentioned on my podcast, BOB The Podcast earlier this week. On August 20th I checked in once again to learn that multiple cast members had wrapped, including some that had been filming for several months, but did not get confirmation that the production was finished or that leading man Diego Luna had concluded filming. However over the weekend sources gave me the green light on Luna, referenced various members of production having their own wrap parties and confirmed that filming had concluded. I’ve even been fortunate enough to see some sets being taken down.

After a long grueling shoot, I firmly believe that filming for Andor is finally over.

Andor began filming at Pinewood Studios, London in November of 2020 after several delays including Tony Gilroy stepping in to help re-write the series and the first wave of COVID-19 shutting pre-production down in March ahead of a planned June 2020 shoot. We at Bespin Bulletin were first to report that Andor re-entered pre-production in Pinewood in August last year and were first to report that filming would begin that November. During Disney’s Investors Day in December 2020, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy confirmed that Andor had begun filming and shared a behind-the-scenes sizzle reel. In the months that followed we were lucky enough to see Andor film at Little Marlow, Essex, Cleveleyes, Scotland and Derbyshire with Bespin Bulletin even getting exclusive images.

Every week I’m messaged by eager Star Wars fans asking me why or how is Andor still filming? I think people get confused about Andor, you need to understand that the production wasn’t like Kenobi or The Mandalorian, it was being treated more like a movie honestly. I know I’ve been saying that for a while online and on my podcast, but that’s how it’s been approached. They haven’t been reliant on the volume like Kenobi and Mando, but the other thing to remember is the season is twelve episodes long. Andor has filmed amidst a strong second wave of COVID-19 in the United Kingdom earlier this year and some unfortunate bad weather which can greatly impact the production especially when Andor uses so many practical sets and filmed on location.

I am personally thrilled however to hear that Andor has wrapped as everything I’ve heard about the series has truly got me extremely excited and it’s without question the series I’m looking forward to the most from the list of upcoming Star Wars series. I cannot wait for Andor to bless our screens later next year, and accordion to my sources it’s roughly a year away from its release date, indicating an August release.
