Hello there! Before we continue with the article I kindly ask you to consider showing your support and appreciation for my work by tipping me via my Ko-Fi page here. Tips are quite rare around these parts, but I assure you no matter how big or small, each tip is deeply appreciated. Now, let’s get on with the news!

Many months ago it was revealed that Birds of Prey and Fargo star, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, had been cast in an unknown role in the upcoming Ahsoka series. Speculation went into overdrive when a quick glimpse of the Star Wars: Rebels character, Hera Syndulla, was seen in a teaser for the Ahsoka series during Star Wars celebration. Though we only saw a shot Syndulla from behind, fans began wondering if this was the mysterious role Winstead had been cast in, and after many months of speculation and the series officially wrapping last month, I can report that I’ve heard from my sources that the speculation is correct and Mary Elizabeth Winstead is playing the live-action version of the fan-favourite character, Hera Syndulla.

Though I don’t know any additional details regarding Hera’s role in the series, I am very excited to see Winstead portray the character in live-action. The cast of Ahsoka is stacked with talent and Rosario Dawnson portraying the titular character leads the charge, with supporting cast consisting of Natasha Liu Bordizzo (Dayshift) playing Sabine Wren, Eman Esfandi (King Richard) as Ezra Bridger, Ivanna Sakhno (The Spy Who Dumped Me), Hayden Christensen (Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith) reprising the role of Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader, Ray Stevenson (Vikings) who MakingStarWars reported plays a character named Babylon, and Lars Mikkelsen (The Witcher) who plays Grand Admiral Thrawn.

The Ahsoka series is set to debut on Disney+ sometime in 2023 and concluded filming last month at Manhattan Beach Studios, California. Earlier this week, Disney publicly revealed the first footage of the Ahsoka series in their 2023 Disney+ promotional video which showcased many titles arriving on the streaming service next year which also included The Mandalorian season three, and the second season of Star Wars: The Bad Batch.
