EXCLUSIVE: Star Wars: The Acolyte filming near Trago Mills, Merthyr Tydfil

Hello there! Before we continue with the article I kindly ask you to consider showing your support and appreciation for my work by tipping me via my Ko-Fi page here. Tips are quite rare around these parts, but I assure you no matter how big or small, each tip is deeply appreciated. Now, let’s get on with the news!

Last week I exclusively reported that Star Wars: The Acolyte was filming in three locations in South Wales – the Brecon Beacons National Park, Resolven and near Vaynor Road, Merthyr Tydfil. At the time of my reporting, filming in Resolven had concluded and at the time of writing this, filming near Vaynor Road and the Brecon Beacons National Park has now concluded. You may remember that last week the Daily Mail posted set photos of The Acolyte and they didn’t share where they were taken, but I have it on good authority they were taken at the Brecon Beacons National Park.

I kept where #StarWars The Acolyte was filming in Brecon and Resolven quiet for over a month for various reasons, but after certain events occurred last week I don’t really care anymore.

Today however I’m bringing you a new filming location for the Leslye Headland created series. As I’d mentioned in my report last week, I knew of the Brecon location for over a month, but avoided reporting on the matter until filming in the location was done, or close to being done, but that is not the case this time around. Signs for PDX, which I explained last week stands for Paradox, which is the codename for Star Wars: The Acolyte, can be spotted in Merthyr Tydfil, South Wales and leads you towards the Trago Mills shopping centre on Swansea Road, Merthyr Tydfil. Signs at Trago Mills point towards fields opposite the the shopping centre and seems in line with the look of the previous locations – Resolven, Vaynor Road, and the Brecon Beacons. At the Brecon Beacons national park the production used a large forest as well as a reservoir and in Resolven, the production filmed once again near a reservoir and additionally waterfalls.

What’s interesting is that this location was previously used for the Lucasfilm series, Willow, as was the Brecon Beacons National Park location. It appears that The Acolyte is using locations previously used by the Willow production, so my advice to you, the reader, is if Willow filmed near you, or you know of Willow filming locations, keep a very close eye on the area as The Acolyte could be filming near you soon.
