We’re now just sixty nine days away from the release of The Mandalorian and Grogu, the follow up feature film to the highly successful Disney+ series, and the first live-action new Star Wars movie to be released in theatres in seven years, the first new release since Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.
As the release inches closer, new promotional material is releasing often and will only increase in frequency the closer we get. Just recently we had the first TV spot for the feature film directed by Jon Favreau and covered Empire Magazine which featured interviews with Favreau, the star of the film Pedro Pascal along with Lucasfilm co-president, Dave Filoni, who also acted as second unit director on the flick.
According to various online users, an exclusive behind the scenes look at The Mandalorian and Grogu has been playing over the past couple of days in the United Kingdom. The BTS featurette has only been attached to IMAX screenings from the Odeon cinema chain.
Footage Description
Some of the new content includes Din Djarin walking down a dark urban street at night and Din, without his helmet, with water up to his neck inside of a cave. New shots of the AT-AT seen on the snow planet from the trailers and Zeb, the fan favourite character from Star Wars: Rebels, is seen walking with Din Djarin in a desert.

There’s brief interview snippets from Pedro Pascal and Jon Favreau intercut between the footage. They emphasise The Mandalorian and Grogu is in the spirit of the original trilogy and showcases practical effects used in the film as behind the scenes of the original trilogy with George Lucas shown alongside the footage.
Given the early IMAX showings of Project Hail Mary this weekend in the United Kingdom, there’s a chance this footage ends up online unofficially. Stay tuned for updates from us about this…
The Mandalorian and Grogu blasts into theatres and IMAX screens on May 22nd.
