EXCLUSIVE: The Mines of Mandalore in The Mandalorian Season 3?

In late December and early January I saw evidence of a cave set built at the train yard location in El Segundo that The Mandalorian, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and The Book of Boba Fett have used in the past, and that the cave had a blue screen in front of it with a singular source adding they believe the blue screen was being used for a lake, and an additional source corroborating that information last week. At the time I thought nothing of this, and I thought it was just a simple cave set…that was until January 26th when an episode of The Book of Boba Fett aired and we saw the return of Din Djarin. In the episode The Armorer spoke briefly about the mines of Mandalore, and that’s when it hit me. Is this cave set for the mines of Mandalore?

We’re now in March and the train yard location has gone through multiple changes since, including a campsite with an unknown ship, but more recently I’ve heard that once again a cave set has been built. The cave is black, and has black sand or dirt in front of it. I don’t know if it’s just an evolution of the cave set that was there previously, or if it’s unrelated.

Around the same time I was told of scenes being filmed which featured a large mountain with snow on top of it in the background and that Din Djarin, The Armorer, and Paz Vizla were around for those scenes, with my belief being they’re connected to the cave set as I’d heard of the same group being linked to those sets. There were other characters or actors around, but unfortunately I don’t know who they are as their costumes were hidden with black robes.

Now with what we know regarding the state of Mandalore thanks to The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, these sets simply scream Mandalore to me. The cave having a lake could speak to the living waters that are beneath the mines of Mandalore, with the cave sets being the entrance. The cave and ground being black are possibly burned from the hellfire of the great purge. However time will tell what this means, but I personally believe we will see Mandalore in a prominent way this season.

I’m currently sitting on more news from The Mandalorian season three, so expect some updates from me very soon.
