EXCLUSIVE: What episode Anakin Skywalker appears in Star Wars: Ahsoka

Ahsoka premiered earlier this week on Disney+ and fans are eagerly anticipating the appearance of Hayden Christenen’s Anakin Skywalker. So, what episode will he appear in? I believe I have the answer along with a couple of other minor tidbits.

Before we continue with news of the day, I’d just like to share that you can support my work in two ways for which I’d be extremely grateful. Firstly it’s via my newly created Patreon page which has a two tier’s at this time – one to simply to support my work and a second which features ad-free articles. Secondly you can tip me with a simple one off payment on my Ko-Fi page or you can choose to support my work monthly on the platform. I’d truly appreciate it if you decided to support my work, but no pressure, I know things are pretty tough out here. Anyway, back to the reason you came here – the news!

Fans have known for quite sometime that Hayden Christensen is set to appear in the Disney+ series, Ahsoka. Reports swirled last year that Christensen was reprising the role, but the actor played ignorant despite a social media post from the series lead, Rosario Dawson. Since then there’s been reports of what Anakin’s role in the series is and the voice of the beloved character can be heard in one of the recent TV sports for the series. So, this begs the question…which episode will Anakin Skywalker appear in?

I have heard that Anakin Skywalker is set to appear in at least the fifth episode of the Ahsoka series with that episode being directed by the series creator, Dave Filoni, and reportedly sits at a 49 minute runtime. I’m sure many could assume this due to the director attached, but from what I’ve been hearing for the past week or so, those assumptions are correct and Anakin Skywalker will supposedly appear in Ahsoka episode five from what I’ve been hearing from sources.

Past reports from MakingStarWars claimed that Anakin Skywalker will appear in scenes featuring the world between worlds. According to the reports, Ahsoka will see an alternate reality where a younger version of herself faces off against her former master on Mustafar, during the events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, and that a dummy was used for a dead Obi-Wan Kenobi. The Mustafar scenes features new footage and Christensen had trained for those new fight scenes. MSW also reported that the Darth Vader team involved in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series reunited for Ahsoka and that new scenes featuring Vader will also be present in the world between worlds scenes – no details have been revealed as to what those scenes showcase, but one theory is that is a live-action version of Ahsoka Tano and Darth Vader’s duel seen in the second season of the animated series, Star Wars: Rebels.

Though not confirmed, Anakin Skywalker’s dialogue featured in the aforementioned Ahsoka TV spot points towards a Clone Wars era flashback, which I have heard is the case. It’s likely that the Clone Wars flashback will feature in episode five alongside the Mustafar scenes and unknown Darth Vader scenes. More Anakin scenes could feature in the episode, but that’s unknown at this time. One thing I had previously heard, and I must stress you take it as a rumour, is that Anakin speaks directly to Ahsoka through the world between worlds. The reason I ask you to take this as a rumour for now is simply because I have only heard it once, but it came from a person that has provided me with information in the past that turned out correct, even if I never reported it – as my readers likely know, I aim to have at least two sources on a report before releasing it.

There’s been various rumours of the younger Ahsoka featured in these alternate reality and flashback scenes being played by House of the Dragon’s Leana Velaryon, Savannah Stein. Personally I’ve not heard this from any sources, and have not seen it being reported from a credible outlet or individual. I personally find Stein to be a great choice for a younger Ahsoka and hope that those rumours are true. I’d much rather a talented younger actress play the part than Lucasfilm attempt to deepfake or de-age Rosario Dawson for these scenes.

The report from MakingStarWars I previously linked to earlier in this article revealed that the purpose of Ahsoka Tano seeing this alternate reality in the world between worlds, along with possible flashbacks, is for the titular character to accept what became of Anakin Skywalker and to accept destiny. I wonder if Skywalker possibly talking with Ahsoka in the episode is part of Ahsoka accepting the past.

Ahsoka is currently airing exclusively on Disney+ with new episodes releasing on Tuesdays at 6pm PT.
