The new season of Fortnite is set to be Star Wars themed and I for one cannot wait for it to begin. So let’s dig into everything Star Wars related coming in the next season of Fortnite.
New Star Wars Skins in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3
Let’s start off with the thing most people are interested in, what skins are coming during this season. The trailer and promotional image gave us a whole heap of skins and there’s a chance there’s more than what was shown.

The trailer begins with our first look at Emperor Palpatine, a skin long rumoured as his Force lighting abilities were first found in the game files over a year ago. Many expected Palpatine to release shortly after the release of Anakin Skywalker and Padme Amidala, as that’s when his abilities were first found, but he’s finally arriving next month.
Mace Windu can be seen wielding his iconic purple lightsaber, likely a weapon that’ll appear in the season. Typically Fortnite release lightsabers in the game when new lightsaber wielding heroes are released and usually they add a lightsaber for that hero, so when Obi-Wan Kenobi released they added his lightsaber, replacing Luke Skywalker’s lightsaber from A New Hope and Empire Strikes Back. Given Mace’s involvement in the season, I expect to see his lightsaber on the battlefield.

Unexpectedly and hilariously, we’re getting a Darth Jar Jar skin. There’s been no word if we’ll be getting a regular skin of Jar Jar Binks, but I personally hope that we do. It was leaked ahead of the trailer reveal that Jar Jar Binks would be getting a skin this season, but I don’t think most expected it to be Darth Jar Jar, but hats off to Epic and Lucasfilm for allowing its inclusion.

Other skins spotted in the trailer is a Wookie Team Leader skin. Cuddle Team Leader is a Fortnite original character, but to match the season, it’s getting a Star Wars remix. Another Fortnite original character, Evie, is also getting the remix treatment with both Jedi and Sith variants.

One skin that has people’s heads scratching is the Mandalorian spotted in the trailer and promotional art. Note, this is note The Mandalorian aka Din Djarin, but a Mandalorian.

Why is this skin confusing people? Well it appears to have multiple styles which has made some wonder whether or not the skin itself is customisable, if you unlock variations of it through the Battle Pass or completing quests, or if there’s three different versions of the Mandalorian.

The last two skins spotted were in the officially released promotional image for the new season and those are Poe Dameron and Captain Phasma. The first sequel trilogy skins coming to Fortnite since 2019.
Fortnite leakers believe other skins are still yet to be revealed and could be coming via the battle pass or item shop. Previously rumoured skins include Qui Gon Jinn, C3PO and a TIE Fighter Pilot.
One leaker has speculated, and that’s all it is – speculation, that Cassian Andor could be a skin as his weapon from Rogue One, A280-CFE, can be seen being used by a Mandalorian. Personally I’d love a Cassian skin arriving in the game given that the second and final season of Andor begins airing on April 22nd. Give me a Bix Caleen too while you’re at it.

Star Wars skins that are in the Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3 Battle Pass

Currently there are only THREE confirmed skins for the battle pass – Emperor Palpatine, Darth Jar Jar Binks and Wookie Team Leader.
It’s not known how many skins will be part of the Battle Pass, but previous rumours suggested up to five. This is due to the season only being one month long which is much shorter than most Fortnite seasons.
If that’s to be the case, then we already know more than half. I personally expect the Jedi or Sith Evie to be part of the battle pass too, with the other variant unlocked in the bonus rewards which usually contains super styles of the skins in the core Battle Pass rewards. That would give us a total of four, if i am correct in thinking Evie will be part of the Battle Pass.
So what about a fifth? I could see the Mandalorian skin spotted in the promotional material being part of the battle pass. Whether that’s in the core Battle Pass or as the bonus skin that’s unlocked by completing quests later in the season. However, we know so little about this skin that it’s currently hard to figure out where it would be best suited.
Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3 Star Wars Item Shop Skins
Mace Windu has been confirmed to be an Item Shop skin, meaning players will have to shell out some vbucks to obtain the character.

Most skins cost 1500 vbucks and typically that just gets you the base skin – none of the other items for the character. If the skin has an emote, back-bling, pickaxe or a glider, then it’s likely you can purchase the skin in a bundle. Though that bundle would likely cost anywhere from 1800 vbucks to 2800.
You can earn vbucks by completing the Battle Pass or you can purchase them through the in-game store. The lowest amount of vbucks you can purchase is 1000 which costs $8.99/£6.99, other amounts purchasable are 2800 at $22.99/£17.49, 5000 at $36.99/£27.99 and 13500 at $89.99/£69.99.
Poe Dameron and Captain Phasma will likely end up being Item Shop skins also. I mentioned the prices that skins and bundles cost earlier, though it’s worth mentioning that skins can sometimes be bundled together. And I can totally see Poe and Phasma being sold separately, but also as a bundle. Typically bundles that contain more than one skin and their items will cost players over 3000 vbucks, probably closer to 4000.
New Locations in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3
It appears the Fortnite residents have turned a fallen AT-AT into a makeshift restaurant, delightfully named eAT-eAT and is surrounded by other iconic Fortnite restaurants food trucks. Other fallen AT-AT’s might be located on the map, but not not gutted out into restaurants, as some can be seen in a snowy location behind Darth Jar Jar in the promotional image for the season.

Tatooine has appeared in Fortnite previously and seems to be making an appearance again as it can be quickly seen in the trailer along with the Jawas sandcrawler. It’s unclear if the Sandcrawler itself is a vehicle that players can control or if it’s just a part of the locations, the former would of course be the much cooler option.

Fortnite have shared a look at the Millennium Falcon that will be new location on the map along with some aircraft hangers.
Behind Captain Phasma in the promotional image, it appears as if the location General Hux made his speech on Starkiller base can be seen, prompting speculation that this area could be featured as a new location in the season.
At this time it’s unclear if there will be even more new locations, I’d personally expect at least one more, maybe a fallen Stardestoryer given how prominently they’ve featured in the promotional material so far.
New Star Wars Vehicles in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3
It has been confirmed that both X-Wings and TIE Fighters will be controllable vehicles in the new season and that the X-Wing can seat from one to four players, whereas the TIE Fighter can seat from one to two players.

As mentioned previously, the Sandcrawler can be seen in the trailer, but it is unclear at this time if it will be a playable vehicle or not.

Star Wars Weapons in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3
As mentioned, lightsabers will be making a reappearance for the season and one of those fine additions to the collection will be Mace Windu’s iconic purple lightsaber that he can be seen using the in the trailer.
Force Lightning will likely be coming to the new season, perhaps it can be found in chests or maybe you’ll have to defeat Emperor Palpatine on the map to obtain it.
Blasters will likely be making a reappearance, maybe one new inclusion will be the aforementioned A280-CFE.
Lastly, it appears as if Mandalorian jetpacks will also be added an as in-game item.
When Does the Fortnite Star Wars Season, Chapter 6 Season 3, begin?
It’s been confirmed that the Star Wars season of Fortnite will begin on May 2nd, ahead of the Star Wars Day celebrations of May 4th (May the 4th be with you).
Unfortunately, the Star Wars season is to be a short lived one as it is due to end on June 7th.
