This latest rumour comes from a celebrity gossip page, and I know what you’re thinking, but the reason I bring this up is because this is the same outlet that revealed Jude Law had joined a Star Wars project weeks before it was announced the Fantastic Beasts star landed a role in Skeleton Crew. It’s that reason alone that I think it’s worth bringing this rumour, and let’s stress that it’s a rumour, to the forefront.
According to DeuxMoi a beloved actor from a nineties sitcom is joining an unknown Star Wars project. Additional hints help narrow down who the mystery star is as the actors role was that of a “nerd” and the character famously wore “suspenders”. Arguably the most famous nerd in suspenders from that era is none other than Steve Urkel from Family Matters who was played by Jaleel White. Family Matters is probably the production White is best known for, and since then he’s guest starred on other high profile television series such as NCIS, House, CSI, Hawaii Five-O, Fresh of the Boat and Atlanta. White also recently starred in the Netflix film, Hustle, alongside Adam Sandler.
DeuxMoi did not provide any additional details on what White’s role is or what Star Wars TV series he’s even set to star in. Currently in Los Angeles both Ahsoka and Skeleton Crew are filming with The Acolyte gearing up in the United Kingdom to start filming in October, but my personal assumption is White is likely attached to either Ahsoka or Skeleton Crew. The key word in regards to what project White is attached to is that he’s “joining”, meaning it’s not a project that’s already been shot such as The Mandalorian season three or Andor.
I’m not overly familiar with White’s work so I can’t offer an opinion on whether or not this is good casting, even more so when very little is known about what project the Family Matters star is joining. Again we must stress this as a rumour, but it’s certainly something to keep an eye on.
