Just a few days ago I wrote about the leaks that the next season of Fortnite was set to be Star Wars themed. Since then we’ve had a few more tidbits of information via various trusted leakers of the battle royale including two new skins from the prequel trilogy.
Qui Gon Jinn and Jar Jar Binks are coming to Fortnite
Two of the most prominent characters of The Phantom Menace are apparently coming to Fortnite in May according to various leakers. Qui Gon Jinn and Jar Jar Binks are rumoured to be coming to Fortnite as part of the Star Wars themed Chapter 6 Season 3 and what’s even better news is, both skins are apparently part of the seasons paid for Battle Pass and won’t be individual items sold separately in the Fortnite Item Shop.
The Fortnite Battle Pass costs 100 vbucks, the in game Fortnite currency, which players can purchase for $8.99/£6.99. Skins in the item shop generally cost 1500 vbucks and that’s for the skin alone, none of the other cosmetics such as emotes, backbling’s, pickaxes and so on. So the news that these two skins are probably part of the Battle Pass is good news to me and I’m sure many other players.
BB-8 coming to Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3?
Another rumour making the rounds is that BB-8 cosmetics are coming to Fortnite. However, it’s not been said in what form these BB-8 cosmetics would arrive. I assumed it could be a BB-8 skin/colour pallet for cars in Fortnite, but it’s also possible that BB-8 cosmetics could also mean weapon wraps, a back bling or even an emote.
What’s also worth mentioning is that none of the credited Fortnite leakers have specified when the BB-8 cosmetics will arrive in the battle royale, just that they’re coming. One would assume that given next season is Star Wars themed, the BB-8 cosmetics will arrive during that period.
When will Jar Jar Binks and Qui Gon Jinn be released?
Jar Jar Binks and Qui Gon Jinn are reportedly part of the next Fortnite Battle Pass which is available at the start of the new season. The next season is Chapter 6 Season 3 and will begin on May 2nd.
When will Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3 end?
Since the last article on the topic, it’s been confirmed that the Star Wars themed Chapter 6 Season 3 is due to end on June 8th, 2025. Meaning the Star Wars season will only last 35 days.
So if you want to get your hands on any of the Battle Pass Star Wars rewards, you’ll only have 35 days to complete it. You can complete the Battle Pass by leaving up and earning XP, you can do this by simply playing the game or can gain more by completing in-game quests, some are weekly, some are daily, there’s usually story related quests and you might have some character given quests.
Personally I’m quite excited by the news of Jar Jar and Qui Gon arriving in Fortnite and even happier that they’re part of the Battle Pass. I haven’t purchased a Battle Pass in a couple of seasons as I haven’t been happy with the items included, but this one is a must have. Though the two skins we know of are prequel themed, it’s unknown if the other skins expected to be included will also be. There were rumblings in the past of a B1 Battle Droid, that would be very cool, and it would be quite neat to include some villains like General Grievous, Count Dooku or Emperor Palpatine. Maybe a Jango Fett and a Mace Windu? That would be worth a purchase.
