John Williams rumoured to be composing for Obi-Wan Kenobi

Over the past week or so a few rumours have indicated that the legend himself, John Williams, may be scoring the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series.

On February 7th the JWFanForum found evidence that John Williams was being recording a new piece of music with an orchestra. The forum found a member of the orchestra on Facebook talking about working with Williams on an unnamed TV project, leading many to speculate that the project could be that of Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Since then fans have gone into overdrive theorising that Williams is either scoring the whole of Kenobi, or simply just a singular piece quite like how Williams scored a theme for Han Solo in Solo: A Star Wars Story, and Ludwig Göransson created the main title theme for The Book of Boba Fett.

Two days ago a member of TheOneRing.net, a Lord of the Rings fan website, claimed that John Williams on February 11th organised an orchestra in Los Angeles and that the name on the door of the studio being used said Kenobi. It’s worth mentioning that TOR have been accurate with leaks pertaining to the Lord of the Rings franchise, but it remains to be seen if they have credible sources outside of that. The one thing that I personally find strange is that the sign on the door simply read Kenobi, and did not use the Obi-Wan Kenobi codename Joshua Tree.

Following the recent rumours and speculation, LRM Online are stating that they are very confident that Williams is composing either the score or one piece of music for Kenobi as they were told by one of their sources.

Though speculation is mounting, and some outlets are now claiming to have been hearing that Williams is involved with the project, keep expectations low until more reliable outlets step forward or if Lucasfilm themselves confirm. Personally I think Williams will return for one piece of music, more than likely a definitive theme for Obi-Wan Kenobi.
