Leslye Headland can’t yet comment on why Kylo Ren’s theme was featured in Star Wars: The Acolyte Episode 5

Eagle eared Star Wars fans last week were quick to point out that elements of Kylo Ren’s theme were used in one of the final scenes of The Acolyte episode five as Qimir approaches the injured body of Osha. Naturally this element has sent fans into a bit of a frenzy with speculation and theories rampant. But less than a week later, the series creator, Leslye Headland, has spoke on the matter but can’t get reveal why the theme was included in the episode, but told fans that’s they will see why.

“It is there on purpose, but I can’t tell you why and I can’t go into what it is. But you shall see.” – Leslye Headland via InVerse

The most popular theory online at the moment is that Qimir is the first Ren or one of the first. During the Imperial Era, a group named the Knights of Ren emerged and claimed to be from the Unknown Regions. The group was led by a human male named Ren, who had earlier taken down an individual who used the name and took it for himself. After his death, the name of Ren was taken by Ben Solo who took up the name of Kylo Ren. In addition to the leader being named Ren, The Ren was also the name of a lightsaber that epitomised the philosophy of the dark side group which the groups leader took from his namesakes predecessor.

Only time will tell what connections Qimir has to Kylo Ren and hopefully those connections will be revealed during this season of The Acolyte, as a second season is not a given and past comments from Headland indicated that the series must perform well to warrant a second season.
