Update: According to Variety, Mikey Madison has already turned down the role presented to her for Shawn Levy’s Star Wars movie. Jeff Sneider, who originally reported Madison having the offer, followed up by saying he heard that she turned down the offer this morning (April 16th).
Original article:
Star Wars Celebration is just days away and fans are eagerly awaiting the event to begin this Friday. Lucasfilm haven’t promised any updates on any project outside of those that have been announced for a panel such as The Mandalorian and Grogu, so will there be any updates on the next movie that’s expected to release after The Mandalorian and Grogu?
According to TheInseider.com (Jeff Sneider), Lucasfilm will be bringing out Ryan Gosling (Drive, Barbie) during the event, likely alongside Shawn Levy, as they’ll update fans on the flick. However, no other cast members are expected to appear outside of Gosling.

It’s unclear if any other role has been cast outside of Gosling’s, though it’s been reported that Jesse Plemons (Breaking Bad, Game Night) has been offered a villain role in the movie and it’s his role to turn down and Jodie Comer (Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, Free Guy) has also been in contention for a role. According to Sneider, Lucasfilm are looking to cast two villains, a 15 year old boy for the films lead, the leads mother and a second female role which has reportedly been offered to Academy Award winner Mikey Maddison (Anora).
It’s unclear if Maddison will take the role or not, or if it’s the role Jodie Comer was reportedly being considered for. Personally I see Comer more in the apparent mother role that Lucasfilm is reportedly in the midst of casting.
Personally I love Mikey Maddison as an actress, even before Anora (which I adored), and would be over the moon to see her in this film. If the cast is Gosling, Plemons and Maddison, I’d be elated. Hopefully we get some positive updates sooner rather than later.
