It was inevitable, a new skin of Din Djarin, is coming to Fortnite and the leaks have begun to arrive ahead of the new film.
Back in December of 2020, as part of the Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 5 battle pass, The Mandalorian aka Din Djarin, released in game with players having the ability to upgrade the characters armour as they progressed through the aforementioned battle pass and completed various quests. The collaboration at the time came with a cool Grogu backbling which featured our little green friend in his pod.
The only way to have gotten this skin was if you played Fortnite and purchased the battle pass, it was an exclusive time and for many years, some Star Wars fans that missed out have been frustrated by the inability to purchase the character. However, it looks as if that is about to change just as Star Wars content is being created by fans within Fortnite.
Leak Season
According to reliable Fortnite leakers ItsMeLeaky, YvetalLeaks and Blortzen, Din Djarin is coming to Fortnite once again, but this time in a form of a new skin. The leakers says that this skin will likely feature the face of Pedro Pascal, the actor that plays Din Djarin, though it is unclear if the skin will not feature the character in the helmet exclusively or if there’ll be an option to switch between off and on. On Sunday, a new scene from the film showing Din without his helmet was released.
As The Mandalorian skin was previously exclusive to the battle pass, Fortnite aren’t allowed to sell the skin in their item shop. Fortnite have since changed this rule, though it does not apply to the battle pass that the previous Mandalorian skin was a part of.
Even More Content To Come?
Since the last time Din Djairn/Mandalorian was released in Fortnite, the video game has added a new cosmetic named Sidekicks. This allows players to run around the battlefield with a small companion that doesn’t play into any influence on the gameplay, it’s merely a cosmetic. They’ve added various pets and animals since its launch along with collaborations with various IP with sidekicks of SpongeBob, Groot and Mr. Poopybutthole (of Rick & Morty).
It feels like a no brainer that Fortnite and Disney/Lucasfilm will release a Grogu sidekick that players can purchase alongside the new Din Djarin skin as part of promotion for the upcoming The Mandalorian and Grogu feature film (May 22nd, 2026).
Release Time Frame
The new Din Djarin skin is expected to arrive sometime this season in Fortnite, which runs until the start of June, along with some other Disney characters such as Buzz Lightyear, Woody and Zurg from Toy Story, with a new entry in that film franchise due to hit theatres on June 19th, 2026.
Beyond Star Wars
Fortnite has gone through a bit of a turbulent time online recently with fans becoming irritated by the elongated previous season with no meaningful gameplay changes or events throughout the extended season.
Following fans frustration for new content and a new season, Epic Games piled on the frustration when they announced the changes to their in game currency — V-Bucks, ahead of the new season which launched on Thursday. Players now get less vbucks for the same amount of money and a whopping 700 less from the season long battle passes.
Despite the frustrations of players, the sentiment turned more positive towards the game upon the release of the new season which features new weapons, a focus on the Fortnite lore, the return of fan-favourite characters, new weapons and new gameplay mechanics.
