New evidence further suggests a Star Wars heavy season of Fortnite

Today data-miners have discovered a new NPC within the files of the latest update of Fortnite, with the NPC being none other than a Stormtrooper. An addition of a Stormtrooper isn’t anything new as they were previously released in the item shop, but they’ve not previously been an NPC. The description of the Stormtrooper NPC reads, “The Imagined Order has recruited the Galactic Empire’s finest soldiers to do what they do best – stay sharp, aim true, and eliminate the Rebel threat.”

The description reveals that the Galactic Empire will side with Fortnite villains, The Imagined Order, who are currently at war with The Seven in the latest Fortnite season dubbed Resistance. The line “eliminate the rebel threat” could just be in reference to The Seven, or it could be further hinting at the arrival of some members of the Rebellion.

Previously it’s been leaked that Darth Vader himself will appear in Fortnite Chapter 3: Season 3 which begins on June 4th, and that he’ll appear as a boss and also as a place of interest on the map similarly to Din Djarin before him. Vader is also believed to be released as a skin, but it’s unknown if he’ll be an item shop release or part of the season three battle pass.

Chief creative officer of Fortnite, Donald Mustard, shared an image of C3PO and Chewbacca on his socials earlier this month and captioned his Instagram post, “Sooooo many secrets here”, mere days after the Vader leak. Mustard has seemingly been hinting at a Star Wars crossover since November as he’s been sharing images of Vader and R2D2 figures along with Star-destroyers. Many Fortnite content creators have commented on Mustards supposed hints, and trust that what he’s teasing will come to fruition as Mustard is prone to hinting at upcoming collaborations.

The current rumbling point to Fortnite’s next season not being a true Star Wars season, but that the season would have strong ties to the franchise and possibly other franchises including Marvel given a comicbook crossover event releasing in June. As an avid player of Fortnite, and fan of both Star Wars and Marvel, I’m very excited for the start of next season and I hope all this teasing doesn’t lead to disappointment.
