Hello there, and May the 4th be with you! The official Obi-Wan Kenobi twitter account has announced that a new trailer for the highly anticipated Obi-Wan Kenobi series will be releasing today.
The Twitter account did not give a specific time, but it’s worth noting that Ewan McGregor is scheduled to appear on the Jimmy Kimmel show tonight, so perhaps that’s where the trailer will premiere, however I personally suspect it’ll be earlier.
Eagle eyed fans also noticed a promotional video of Twitter for May the 4th and the Obi-Wan Kenobi trailer on Twitter earlier today, giving fans a quick glimpse at new footage from the upcoming trailer. However the only new piece of footage was a quick shot of Reva alongside a couple of purge troopers and gang of Stormtroopers.
Fans have long speculated that a second trailer for the limited-series would release given the title of the first trailer was the teaser trailer, which usually implies there’ll be a follow up trailer dubbed the official trailer, which is what we’re getting at some point today. Fans have also been speculating in recent weeks that the official trailer would release in celebration of May the 4th, which has now come to fruition.
No details are known or have leaked in regards to the official trailer, but I suspect we’ll finally get our first look at Darth Vader and perhaps a look at one of the clashes between the former master and apprentice. Though the story of the Kenobi series is very focused on Leia Organa, as Leia gets kidnapped and Obi-Wan springs into action, I don’t know if we’ll see her in this upcoming trailer as Lucasfilm and Disney have tried their best to not let fans know our young princess is in the series.
In celebration of May the 4th, Lucasfilm and Disney have released Disney Gallery: The Book of Boba Fett, Behind the Mac: Skywalker Sound, launched a collaboration with Fortnite, and have announced the Kenobi trailer. I’m sure we’ll be getting even more news throughout the day!
