The highly anticipated Obi-Wan Kenobi series is only a matter of weeks away, but the ending of the limited series and has seemingly found it’s way online thanks to a series of reports from MakingStarWars. If you do not want the ending of Kenobi spoiled for you, then I strongly suggest you leave now.
According to the first report, during the final battle in the series between Obi-Wan Kenobi and Darth Vader, Reva takes off to Tatooine to discover why Kenobi was on the planet. During the first chapter, Reva believed she sensed Obi-Wan whilst she and her fellow Inquisitors were seeking out Nari, but the Grand Inquisitor dismissed and minimised her feelings. The report adds that there’s probably contextual clues missing within the report, and that they believe the execution will be more natural and fleshed out on screen.
The second report goes on to say, once Kenobi emerges victorious from his fight against his former apprentice, he travels back to Tatooine to complete the mission he accepted many years ago, to watch over Luke Skywalker. He enters the Lars homestead to find Owen and Beru Lars subdued by Reva. The Third Sister stands in front of the son of Anakin Skywalker, a man she and her fellow Inquisitors idolised, with her blade ignited as the boy looks in horror. She doesn’t move in for the kill, she’s struggling with what she has to do and around this time we see one of Reva’s flashbacks which shows her being taken from her family as an innocent child, thrown into the Jedi order, survived the attack on the Jedi temple during Order 66, then later forced to become an Inquisitor. Kenobi breaks her trance and let’s Reva walk away, leaving little Luke unscathed – she cannot do what Skywalker did all those years ago, and she still has her humanity.
The third report details the aftermath where Beru consoles Luke following the traumatic event he’s just gone through whilst Obi-Wan leaves. Owen is relived the worst didn’t occur, and he understands Kenobi is doing the job he was sent here to do. During earlier scenes in the series, Kenobi left a T-16 Skyhopper toy at the Lars homestead hoping Luke would find it, but Owen found it first and hid it away. Owen decides to finally give the toy to Luke who’s spirits elevate.
The fourth and final report reveals that Reva has returned to the Fortress Inquisitorious on Nur and gives a report on the events that transpired following Vader’s defeat at the hands of Obi-Wan Kenobi. Reva kneels before Vader and tells him that Kenobi has been exterminated, she has completed the mission the Inquisitors have been on for a decade, she has killed Obi-Wan Kenobi. Vader ignites his blade and kills the Inquisitor, and in these moments he knows that Reva is lying, there is no way his former master who has bested him yet again was murdered by somebody so easy to kill.
In her final moments Reva knows that the son of Skywalker and Kenobi live, that Vader has lost his only lead to the latter in his anger, and that she gets to die a little less than a villain.
Following these events it’s previously been reported that the ghost of Qui-Gon Jinn would appear to Obi-Wan Kenobi, marking the first time Kenobi has laid eyes upon his master since the events of The Phantom Menace.
