A brand new Star Wars video game has been announced by Lucasfilm Games. Developed by Ubisoft and Behaviour Interactive, the beloved Monopoly board game is getting a digital, Star Wars twist and it is called MONOPOLY: Star Wars Heroes vs Villains.
Lucasfilm Games announced the project in a Tweet on Tuesday with a short teaser trailer. The trailer revealed the game’s logo. Plus, the full reveal of the game will go live on Wednesday April 29th as part of the May the 4th event. Lucasfilm also confirmed the game’s full release date: Thursday June 11th 2026.
According to a blog post by Ubisoft, it will launch on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 1 and 2, GeForce NOW, and PC via the Ubisoft Store, Steam, and the Epic Games Store.
We’ve seen Star Wars themed Monopoly board game sets before. Plus, Ubisoft have already made it into a video game but this is not just a simple digital version with Star Wars content. Ubisoft are reimagining it. The game description from Ubisoft’s site says:
Get ready for a dynamic, team-based twist on Monopoly set in the Star Wars galaxy! Choose your favorite heroes or villains, use their unique powers, and battle with your friends and family across a custom Monopoly board for control of the galaxy.
Based on the game’s key art as found below, we can see Rey Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Kylo Ren and Darth Maul are confirmed to be in the game.
