Star Wars is finally coming to the Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN) and it’s about to change Star Wars gaming sooner than you think.
Announced back in June last year, Epic games and Disney have been working on bringing Star Wars to UEFN. This is the toolset that allows for anyone to create their own gaming experience in Fortnite. With the integration of Star Wars assets you can now create your very own Star Wars game with officially licensed material.
In a Tweet posted on Monday, the official Fortnite Developers account published a video showing UEFN opening with a light speed effect. The transition ended with a date of March 19th 2026. This is the release date of the big Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2 update. Naturally, we should now expect Star Wars to enter UEFN on Thursday as well.
This Will Change Star Wars Gaming In The Immediate Future
What this actually means for the future Star Wars gaming is quite interesting. You are going to be able to create your very own game with the power of Unreal Engine 5 and use Disney approved assets from the Star Wars universe. Developers will be able to craft and release actual Star Wars games within Fortnite. Whether any will be a success remains to be seen.
In the past we have seen a few Star Wars projects made within UEFN that were officially published by Epic and Disney. Last year, you could watch the first episodes from Star Wars Tales of the Underworld within a Watch Party island. This was a roaring success having achieved over 5 million viewers of the show via Fortnite. Disneyland Game Rush was a limited timed experience by Disney that launched in November. It featured a Star Wars minigame and content. These experiences were faithful to Star Wars and offered new ways to enjoy the franchise.
What Can Be Used?

In terms of what content will be available for fans to use in the editor, we have some idea based on many different leaks. A large selection of weapons be it Lightsabers, blasters and grenades are basically a given. Abilities such as the jetpack may also be included.
Props such as cargo chests, buildings, the AT-ST, LAAT gunship, Imperial Shuttle, Star Destroyer and turbo laser are also rumored to be usable. We might even be getting a custom creature spawner for things like the Tauntaun. The Endor Rebel outfit has been leaked too which would be new for Fortnite. Plus, the X-Wings will be kitted out with a Proton Torpedo complete with lock-on, a first for the vehicle in Fortnite.
We’ll be covering the Star Wars x UEFN integration as soon as it goes live.
