In one month tomorrow, Star Wars fans will finally be able to sit down and enjoy the highly anticipated new live-action Star Wars series, The Acolyte, when it hits Disney+ with two episodes.
Promotion on the series has steadily been ramping in up in recent weeks with a handful of interviews, magazine covers and images released. However, today we might’ve got the most interesting image so far in the form of a promotional banner for the series.
The image below has been making its way around the internet today and features mostly characters we know already – Mae, Sol, Venestra, Jecki, Indara, Yord, Kelnacca and Mother Aniseya. However, to the right of Jedi Master Sol, a mysterious figure donning black clothing and an almost Daft Punk style mask can be seen. The mysterious individual appears to be a darkside user given that they’re wielding a red lightsaber.

Speculation will be rampant regarding this character and who exactly is just the mask. Could it be the recently revealed to be cast David Harewood who was reportedly cast in a small role? Could it be a character/actor we’ve already seen in promotional material who’s under there? Only time will tell.

Set during the High Republic era, The Acolyte, will follow an investigation into a shocking crime spree pits a respected Jedi Master (Lee Jung-jae) against a dangerous warrior from his past (Amandla Stenberg). As more clues emerge, they travel down a dark path where sinister forces reveal all is not what it seems.
The Acolyte stars Amandla Stenberg (Bodies, Bodies, Bodies) as the lead, as well as Lee Jung Jae (Squid Game), Dafne Keen (His Dark Materials), Manny Jacinto (The Good Place), Jodie Turner-Smith (After Yang), Charlie Bennett (Russian Doll), Rebecca Henderson (Inventing Anna), Dean Charles Chapman (1917), Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix) and Margarita Levieva (Daredevil: Born Again).
The Acolyte premieres on Disney+ on June 4th with TWO episodes.
